After circling through the whim and whir of the Austin music scene for the better part of a decade, groove and smooth-psych aficionados Feverbones emerges with their first self-titled EP out now on Punctum Records. Abram Shook (of The Great Nostalgic, The Low Lows, Shearwater, and now fronting his own solo project) happened across drummer/songwriter Matthew Shepherd and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Christopher Cox and first collaborated on early tracks for Shook's 2014 solo release, Sun Marquee. Around this time, Shepherd and Cox began recording and touring as a wildly dynamic rhythm section and sometimes as hired guns for a number of local acts (Dana Falconberry, The Eastern Sea, The Lovely Sparrows, Paul Banks & The Carousels, Mission Dorado, and others). With a summer's worth of meetings to talk shop and reinvent sprawling songs with questionable titles, Feverbones came together as a new collaborative channel for this group of seasoned Austin musicians.
Feverbones is currently writing and recording a new record with plans for a release sometime in 2014.
