Today, Punctum Records releases TAFT's debut album, Groove Redundant, on vinyl, compact disc, and digital formats. Produced by Brian Bender at Brooklyn's Motherbrain Studio, the record features 10 unique songs that hearken to psychedelic tapestries of The Flaming Lips, and electro-punk grooves of St. Vincent while also inviting the dark recorded space of 70's songwriters such as Harry Nilsson.
"The Austin by NYC group is lead by the artist of the band’s namesake, along with friends Andrew, Josh, Max, and Ryan to create strings of serious to whimsical personal narratives, thoughtful, along with heart penned trajectories that soar through evocative channels. The band’s own proclivities toward creative arrangements, and self-designed structures blend chamber folk pop into the bedroom born stream of thoughts that connects the creative states of New York and Texas." -Sjimon Gompers, Impose Magazine
