Brooklyn rock outfit TAFT teams up with Austin band Little Lo to release a special split 7" on September 16th via Punctum Records! The vinyl will feature tracks Lullavibe and Verberation View - a collaboration that highlights the bands' shared focus on musical texture and space. Operating from the center, their songs occupy a middle ground that is stable enough for the listener to explore.
Lullavibe's dueling drums intermingle with seductive bass groove and dreamy vocals. Deep and danceable, the song is held aloft by a pair of plucked guitars that weave from a tapestry of influences from Neil Young to Marvin Gaye. TAFT originally released the track as part of the Intarsia EP.
Verberation View reflects patients and gradual development, a song that speaks for itself once complete. It is also the title track from Little Lo's forthcoming LP. The band strives to write songs with The Cure and Tom Petty’s pop sensibility that are sonically filtered by 60’s based recording techniques such as the likes of The Velvet Underground, then dipped in a Brian Eno synthesizer sound scape.
This limited run vinyl record is designed by Taft Mashburn. Release show and additional details coming soon.
